And before I forget Matti, this is another vote for having an option to display both the Short Description (subtitle) and the extended information displayed at the bottom of PlasmaEPG.

Cheers.

2.10-Beta is released. Try it out and see if it fixes the description problem! :) At least it should...

Hi Matti,

Will you be removing the VAT for non-EU customers? We are not required to pay it.

"Export service: Goods can be sent direct to an address abroad or to a traveller's plane or ship. The sales tax of 22 per cent is then deducted."

http://www.visitfinl...ndex.nsf/(Pages)/Tax-free_Shopping?opendocument&np=B-30

And have you managed to get the latest version to show all of the program description not just the first 256 characters?

Thanks!!

Hi Matti,

I'm trialling the eval of 2.10 beta and was wondering if you could make the favorites case insensitive (or case optional).  The Australian EPG on certain channels is sometimes broadcast in all caps and other times in propercase.  Making the search case insensitive would mean I wouldn't have to set multiple favourite searches for each program.

I'd like to purchase a license for Plasma EPG and this is really the only function that I'm having trouble with.

I also use the UK Auto Scheduler and integration into that would be beneficial, however if you can make the favs case insensitive then I could probably stop using that.

Thanks
Damo

There is a real need for favorites' case insensitivity in PlasmaEPG, so let's raise the priority of the issue in my todo list :)

[EDIT] Well, the feature is implemented now :) Much more work than I first expected, but case insensivitiness is working fine now. Just wait for 2.10-RC... it's to be released soon...

That is great!  Would there be any chance that the timers (maybe part of favorites?) and movies will be case insensitive as well?  Look forward to testing it out so I can get registered

I do have one problem though.  I've just discovered that each time I start PlasmaEPG some if not all of the EPG data is blank.  I've tried from a cold start and also restarting the tap after a quick scan (so the EIT is populated), but the problem still occurs.  Do you have any suggestions?

Sure, movies can be case insensitive too... I'm not quite sure what you mean by timers in this context? Automated timers created using favorite's search text are case insensitive now.

After the quick scan, all event information displayed in PlasmaEPG is saved into PlasmaEPG.evts file. You can check contents of the file and compare it to events that are displayed when you restart PlasmaEPG. There shouldn't be anything in the file that is not displayed in the GUI.

OK, I didn't realise that the timers were case insensitive already.  That answers my question.  I assumed that because the automated timers were linked with the favorites that it used the same case criteria.

The problem of no EPG data seems to have stopped now after a day or so.  I'll check the .evts file next time it starts with no data and let you know.

Do you have an ETA on the RC release?

It's almost ready... I'll try to release it next week at latest.

RC released :) Unfortunately program description is still not shown correctly when using Description Extender TAP. Will be fixed in the final version...

Hi,

I finally got around to testing the RC and have a couple of bugs/questions.

- the 30 day trial period still times out after 14 days.  It counts down from 30, but when it gets to 16 days left it states the trial period has expired and closes the guide.
- I use TAP commander, and if Plasma EPG is above any other TAPs in the load order, the TAPs after Plasma EPG will not load.  This didn't occur in the 2.10 beta
- Not a bug, but are you considering implementing merged timers?  One big problem we have in OZ is that shows tend to run late almost all the time.  I currently use UKAS to set my timers as it will merge consecutive timers.  In the tests that I did with Plasma EPG it seemed to create two separate timers.  Is that correct, or did I set it up wrong?  If you do implement merged timers, my suggestion would be to make the name of the rec file SHOW1 + SHOW2, etc...  Obviously with a max of whatever the safe limit is for file names.
- again not a bug, but if the deep scan time occurs when you are in playback mode, the playback will stop and the scan starts.  What do you think about either an option to not interrupt playback, or a prompt to ask the user what to do?
- While running Plasma EPG I've also had the toppy hang/crash on a couple of occasions.  I think it has to do with running a background search while there is a recording.  I was trialling that setting, and after I turned it off it seemed to be stable again.

Thanks
Damo

Fixed in 2.10.

I can add this to the wish list :)

This is a good point too. I think the deep scan should be postponed until playback has been finished.

Stability of Toppys seems to be very dependent of the environment, firmware, Toppy model and... luck ;) This is why I have added a setting to PlasmaEPG for disabling background search while recording.

Thanks for the feedback.  I didn't realise that the final version of 2.10 had been released!  When I get a chance I'll have a look at it.

The merged timers is the only thing that I'd really like to see so I could replace my current config of UKAS and JustEPG, but I'm sure there are plenty of other requests for features as well.
